How Pricing Changes by Season
Indonesia has high, shoulder, and low seasons that affect both vessel availability and price. Here is the seasonal breakdown for 2026.
High Season
July, August, December 20 – January 5
Premium prices apply (+15–20%). Vessels often book 8–12 weeks ahead. Best weather, peak demand. Multi-day charters of 5+ nights have first priority over short bookings.
Shoulder Season
April–June, September–November (excluding Dec)
Standard pricing. Excellent weather windows, manageable demand. Best value for premium vessels. Most multi-day charters have full vessel choice with 4–6 weeks notice.
Low Season
January (post-1st), February, March
Discounted pricing (-10–15%). Some afternoon weather but generally great mornings. Good for couples and solo travelers wanting privacy. Charter routes adjusted daily for weather.
Terms, Deposits, and Refund Policy
Standard terms across all charters. Bespoke terms negotiable for charters above IDR 300M total.
Deposit + Balance
30% deposit on contract signing locks the vessel and date. 70% balance due 30 days before departure. Bank transfer (preferred), Stripe (+3%), or USDC/USDT crypto accepted.
Free Cancellation Window
Cancel up to 30 days before departure for full refund minus 3% transaction fee. Reschedule at no charge up to 14 days out subject to vessel availability.
Late Cancellation
Inside 14 days, deposit becomes non-refundable but transferable to a future trip with the same vessel within 12 months. Force majeure events (cyclone, eruption, government closure) get full refund regardless of timing.
Travel Insurance
Strongly recommended — most cancellations are due to flight delays, illness, or weather closures outside our control. Reputable providers: World Nomads, SafetyWing, Allianz Travel. We don’t sell insurance.

Bali Phinisi (us)
Per-charter pricing. Boat is yours regardless of group size. Include all transfers, no hidden fees, departure from Bali. Best when you want to skip domestic flights and have a flexible group size.
LBJ-Departure Operators
Often per-cabin pricing. Boat may be shared with other guests unless you charter privately. Plus required flights, LBJ hotel, transfers. Best when Komodo is the singular goal and you want maximum park time.
Day-Trip Catamarans
Per-seat pricing. Shared boat with up to 80 guests, fixed itinerary, ferry-style operation. Significantly cheaper but a different category — not a phinisi experience. Best when budget is the primary constraint.
When the Per-Boat Model Becomes a Bargain
Phinisi pricing is per-charter. As your group size increases, the per-person cost drops dramatically. Here are real comparisons across group sizes for a 4-night Bali → Moyo charter.
Couple (2 guests)
IDR 95M total = IDR 47.5M per person for 4 nights. Premium experience, equivalent to a luxury Bali villa stay but on water with all-inclusive meals and crew.
Family (4 guests)
IDR 95M total = IDR 23.7M per person for 4 nights. Comparable to a 5-star resort suite — but you sail through three islands.
Friends Group (8 guests)
IDR 95M total = IDR 11.9M per person for 4 nights. Now cheaper than most 4-star hotels in Seminyak — for an entire vessel with private chef.
Large Group (12 guests on premium tier)
IDR 152M total = IDR 12.7M per person for 4 nights on the larger vessel. Close to mid-tier resort pricing for what is effectively a private island holiday.
